Course on print fabrics and papers: stencils, blockprintings, metal sheets
Timetable 10.00 / 15.00 with a brief stop to enjoy a quick snack in the atelier to be recovered at the end of the lesson.

This 15-hour course offers the opportunity to learn the print on fabrics and cards through the use of different techniques. Matrix printing: with wooden molds and linoleum matrixes (linoprinting). Stencil printing and transposing objects to create different textures. The decoration on the gold leaf applied to the fabric and its aging. We will be inspired by the traditional English textile archives (William Morris), French (Zuber) and Oriental (Japanese and Chinese) to design our models and to carve matrixes and stencils.
Friday: stencil technique and transposition of objects on fabric
Day where we will devote ourselves to the simplest and most used technique for printing fabrics.
We will use stencils already cut and objects already predisposed to proceed with printing on fabrics.
It will be possible to give greater relief and therefore three-dimensionality to what is done with the manual placing of lights and shadows.
Saturday: blockprinting technique or printing with linoleum and wood matrices on fabric and paper
Study of the design to be reported on linoleum matrices.
Execution of manual notching.
Execution of printing on paper and fabric with specific colors at high charge of pigments.
Different types of colors will be used, including those suitable for printing on the fabric, to allow washing.
Sunday: gluing technique, decoration of metal foils (gold and silver leaf)
Preparation of the funds on fabric, transposition of the drawings of various shapes and sizes, gluing technique of the laminae.
Decoration with transparent colors to highlight the iridescence of the gold and silver foils. Drawing up of protective devices.
The fabrics used will be linen, hemp, cotton, silk. The drawings made, the carved matrices, the stencils and the printed fabrics will be owned by the participant.
Everything learned can then be used to paint tapestries, curtains, borders, cushions, dresses, etc. Of simple execution and of great visual effect, also suitable for those who have no pictorial experience.
Duration of the course 15 hours – cost 410 euros – single days of 5 hours course equal to 145 euros.
Ideal for staying La Cortaccia di Sala Baganza or Il Monte with a splendid view over the hills of Parma or in the Woods of Carrega at the B & B Il Richiamo del Bosco.
